Windows 10 build 17128 is the first Insider Build without Watermark and Timebomb

Microsoft did not list any fixes, improvements, or known issues for this build which already made some people speculate if this will be the final RS 4 (Spring Creators Update) version or not. The new Build is downloadable right now via Fast ring.

Redstone 4

No Changelog

Microsoft hasn’t released any statement or changelog for this build officially which makes it hard to identify what really was changed. The noticeable changes are the removed timebomb and the watermark on the right bottom.

As always if you’re connected you receive  the update via Settings -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates.

Cortana Show Me

One thing which seems to be new is yet again a Cortana change – seems Microsoft still won’t give up on this dead horse – the app is now directly downloadable via the Windows App Store. The app is designed to guide you trough the Windows settings, which is in my eyes pretty useless since the integrate search works already better, not to mention that the Settings option is clearly visible for everyone in the start menu.

If you’re using your keyboard navigation with your device (no matter if you’re on PC or mobile), you will need to press Alt + T in order to move between Settings and Cortana Show Me. The full guidance list which is current supported by Cortana Show was revealed by Microsoft itself.

My thoughts

I don’t think it will be the RTM build, I assume 10.0.17130 or another build is the candidate because Microsoft often test the timebomb/watermark feature before there rolling out their new RTM builds in order to ensure everything works as expected.

We are in the final phase here and it the Redstone 4 is almost here – I can smell it! mDFvSFR
