Microsoft released yesterday a lot of Office updates. KB4011730 seems to have a problem which affects Word 2016 – Several people complaint that they could’t open .docx files from the file explorer without getting a crash. This is now confirmed and MS provided a workaround for this problem.
For those who actually already installed KB4011730 there is a solution provided by Microsoft – KB4018295 fixes the crashing. Microsoft hasn’t updated their support yet because the cause of the crash will be inspected over the coming days. After this process is done the original article of KB4011730 gets updated accordingly.

- mso2016-kb4018295-fullfile-x86-glb.exe around 128.0 MB
Microsoft was reacting quickly in order to solve the issue, of course it should’t happen in the first place but it did and the workaround might help those people who are affected.
Maybe instead of messing with Office which is becoming the Adobe Flash replacement – how about installing LibeOffice? Less Office less cluster-fuck.
